In 2006, Medfield moms Jeanne McKenzie and Nicki Gustafson met a local family struggling to make ends meet. Knowing Christmas gifts were out of reach, they quietly joined forces to brighten the family’s holiday—and discovered how a small act of kindness could make a huge difference. Inspired by that experience, they founded The Christmas Angels in 2007, creating a bridge between families in need and those eager to help, spreading joy and generosity year after year.
In 2022, Maria Puglia, Jodi Bills, and Nicola Tessier joined the team to carry on this heartwarming tradition, which helps support over 50 local families each year.
How It Works
Through The Christmas Angels, we anonymously match families in need with sponsors—other families, groups, or organizations—who want to make their holidays brighter.
Most families are referred through trusted community partners like Medfield Youth Outreach. Once referred, each family shares a simple wish list of “Wants” and “Needs.” Sponsors then select a family, purchase gifts, and we handle the rest—ensuring everything stays completely anonymous.
Our mission is simple: count your blessings, share your kindness, and keep the spirit of giving going. One act of generosity can spark another—and that’s the magic of The Christmas Angels.

"For it is in giving
that we receive."
